Two youngsters were arrested and four home-made firearms were seized by the police in Westmoreland yesterday morning.
According to reports, a police team went to an area known as Withorn, and while conducting a search, the weapons were found.
There has been increased police presence in the parish since criminals went on rampage on May 1, killing seven persons, including two children, in Grange Hill. Eight persons were also injured in the attack.
Following the bloodletting that was said to be motivated by gang feuds, some residents fled the community in fear, while others were said to be placing bottles and cans at their windows and doors at nights to alert them if intruders are entering their homes.
