A call centre in Montego Bay, St James, was forced to lock down its operations yesterday, after several anonymous calls were received concerning a bomb being on the building, causing a security scare.
Reports from the Montego Bay police are that at about 11:20 a.m., police received information of a bomb threat at the location on East Street in the city.
Bomb disposal experts of the Jamaica Constabulary Force as well as members of the Jamaica Defence Force and the Fire Brigade responded and over 100 persons who work on the building were evacuated.
The building and surroundings were scoured and nothing unearthed. After combing the area, it was declared safe.
