Football fiesta! … Gleaner signs RSPL deal with PLCA | Sports

The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited (GCML) is now the official print partners of the Red Stripe Premier League, following the signing of multi-year deal with the Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA).

The signing of the deal, which took place at the media outlet’s North Street office, earlier this week, will see the newspaper company bringing unprecedented focus to the Premier League, through multi-platform coverage as well as promotional and developmental programmes involving league stakeholders.

General Manger of the PLCA, Pat Garel, was elated with the deal.

“Personally, I am delighted that we are at this juncture to start what I think will be a mutually beneficial relationship,” said Garel. “My knowledge of The Gleaner is that it was around long before I was born and the history and archives should have just about everything do with the Premier League and every league that have been played in Jamaica.”

Clyde Jureidini, secretary of the PLCA, said the partnership forms part of the PLCA’s vision to secure world-class exposure for the competition.

“Our growth potential is great because I think that the Jamaica football landscape is one that is poised for take-off in the new year,” said Jureidini. “We are looking for new partners, we are looking for international brands, and we are looking to make a sudden and long standing impact and we think The Gleaner and The Star are the two pillars on which we think we can build that possibility.”

 

UNMATCH PLATFORM
